BARB FREDERICKS, MOA

Barb Fredericks is a dedicated Medical Office Assistant (MOA) at Plum Midwifery, where her passion for supporting families through their birthing journeys shines. Barb works remotely and you will likely "meet her" on the phone or via email during your course of care with Plum!

A mother of three, Barb’s own experiences with midwifery deeply shape her work. She had the privilege of welcoming all three of her children with the care and guidance of midwives, two of whom were born through empowering home water births. These personal experiences have fostered Barb’s profound respect for the midwifery model of care and her commitment to providing compassionate, knowledgeable support to expectant families.

Barb’s educational background complements her role at Plum Midwifery. She pursued studies in Natural Nutrition, which has given her a holistic understanding of health that she integrates into her daily life and work. Her studies in Business Administration further enhance her ability to manage the operational aspects of Plum Midwifery, ensuring smooth communication and excellent service for families. Additionally, Barb has completed training in Psychological First Aid and Caring for Others, providing her with essential tools to offer emotional support during times of crisis. This education allows her to approach each situation with empathy, ensuring the emotional and physical needs of families are met with care and attention.

With a heart for nurturing and an eye for detail, Barb brings a unique blend of personal experience and professional expertise to her role. Whether offering administrative support, providing resources, or simply lending an empathetic ear, Barb strives to make every step of the journey feel empowering for the families she serves.

Outside of her work, Barb enjoys spending time with her children, exploring nature, and hiking. Her deep love for midwifery and natural health continues to inspire her to create a positive, nurturing experience for every family she meets.
